Favorite Gear

I have a lot of gear for both girls and I am sure I am not the only one! I also am kinda picky about the gear I use for them and I definitely have favorites. Some maybe just a favorite item from a brand and some are the brand as a whole. I hope to do some gear reviews to help people out in finding gear they like but in this post I am going to talk about the gear I regularly use!

Ruffwear

I have a lot of gear made by this brand and great things to say about it! My favorite item of theirs that I own is the Front Range Harness. I have many of them in multiple colors and sizes.

Karma is wearing an Xsmall in orange in this picture. Karma can wear both their Xsmall and Small as can Kizzy. A friends standard poodle can wear the medium comfortably.

Also in the picture is one of their collars! I believe it is the Crag collar but I am not 100% sure on that as I got it second hand. It is one of my favorite nylon collars. I primarily use it for when we are doing fast cat to attach Karma's muzzle to as it does fit through the loop.

I also love their boots. Because Kizzy is a service dog, she walks on all sorts of surfaces and some can be damaging to her paws like asphalt in the summer or salt in the winter.I have the Summit Trex in two different styles. I have an older style that has a sock that goes up the leg and then the other doesn't. I personally prefer the one without because they are much easier to get on. I also include the ruffwear socks to prevent rubs from the boots and also to help keep her front dew claws from getting rubbed.

Overall they are a great brand! They have great gear that is comfortable for my dogs and holds up to hiking, swimming, play and even work! I will always recommend their stuff

Kurgo

Kurgo is brand that I use on a regular basis. I don't own a lot of gear made by them but the gear I do have I love. My favorite of their gear is the Quantum 6 in 1 leash. It is a hands free leash and it makes life so much easier when you are a service dog handler! I use it 95% of the time I bring my service dog with me. It gives you the ability to use both hands while doing whatever you need to while still having your dog close. It is also nice if you want to work off leash but still have a leash on you. I clip the leash onto it's self and it is out of the way and the girls can be off leash. I have two; one for each dog. Karma's is red and black and Kizzy's is blue and black.

Tandem with the 6in1 leashes

Another favorite is Mud Dog Travel Shower! This makes hiking so nice because I know I can let the girls get muddy and have fun without the worry of the mess cause I just have to grab a water bottle and attach this to it and can rinse them off quickly!

I have two different styles of bowls by Kurgo. My favorite as a service dog handler is the Zippy Bowl. It is a cloth collapsible bowl that zips into a small triangle and has a carabiner. I keep my attached to my backpack!  The other bowl that I have of theirs is the Splash-Free Wander Bowl. I use this bowl mostly in the car when we are at trials cause they can drink and not flood their crates. It isn't a perfect no splash bowl but it mostly does the job!

RexSpec

I had never planned on getting RexSpec for any of my dogs to be honest. I saw them and thought they were cool but didn't think that my dogs would need them. That was until people decided to throw rocks at Kizzy one day while she was working and now she wears them everytime she works because people suck. I was able to get a pair in a trade and I am very thankful for them because they dog protect her eyes from stupid people

While those are bigger retail brands that I love I also love supporting smaller brands so I want to share my favorites as well!

Angry Melon Gear

This is hands down one of my favorite brands! Karma and Kizzy are currently wearing collars made by AMG. The maker does nylon collars that are so well made. They wear the 1.5 inch Lightweight puppy collar as their tag collar. They are super easy to clean and look nice on them! I also have the Ecollar strap. I highly recommend this for any ecollar user. It is so much nicer than the biothane collars that come with the ecollar. It has elastic on it so it gets a better connection on the neck and a overall better fit especially for dogs like mine that have little necks. My favorite thing that I have bought for AMG is Karma's Lure Coursing Leash. It makes releasing her so much easier. Karma is a wild child when she knows she is coursing and has twisted my fingers in her collar trying to get the lure. I have merch as well from AMG but I will share those in a later post

Sew What Co

Most of my Sew What gear is service dog related. She makes patches, leash wraps, vests, capes and many other things for service dog handlers. The owner is amazing to work with and is so creative. I have a few patches made by her but my two favorite pieces I have of hers is my Hamilton vest and my Space Bag-dana.

My Hamilton vest is a piece of art. I gave her a rough idea of what I wanted on the vest and she took it and ran. It came out even better than I could have expected. I had been wanting one for a while and she made it a reality.

The Bagdana is super cute. I bought this a premade item in one of the sales. It is a little big on Kizzy but is still super cute on her. It also glows in the dark which is amazing. It  says "I need space" on it which is great for both my dogs.

These are just my personal thoughts on the gear that I use on a regular basis. I have put a lot of this gear though hell and it has survived and still works which I love and I am thankful for!
